[QUOTE=Eroth]
- Boosting PvP Skill power to twice what it is now (30 dmg before turns to 60 dmg)
QUOTE]
....does that mean healing X2 aswell?
if so its the same as normla but less health...( ie. 60 dmg after armour to target with 300 takes 5 hits,30 dmg takes 10 hits)
also about double everything..what do you mean by titles? reward the lads leaving everything ot the last minite?
wouldn't mind the double faction tho

Seriously.
Could this discussion BE any more premature?
Are you spending a lot of thought on how you're going to spend the last moments of your life, as well?
I know I'm not!
Some of us aren't exactly looking forward to the close of GW1 servers, so shut the you-know-what up about GW2 and enjoy GW1, already.

This idea does have some potential to it...
I can recall the fun end-of-the-world-1999-parties
GW2 = Y2K
They should have some event with a char from the future (ie GW2) coming back in time and upseting the balance of all things in GW. Restart the earthquakes, move all the bosses to diff maps/chapters. Destroy all locked chests, well the locks at least
A 1 week countdown that ends with nothing really happening save some fireworks after the villian is driven back to the future where we can find him in GW2 and seek a little payback, or give the guy a thanks
Still this is a very long way off, but never to early to toss a few ideas around

As less people play GW, the server and bandwidth load will continuously spiral downwards, until the point where the only people left will be hosted on a 386SX16 with 1MB RAM and a 14.4k modem.
There won't be much need to shut it down because the resource draw will keep decreasing. Eventually the only ones left will be all of those hardcore level 20 folks in presear who use the game as a 3D chat room like a fancy version of IMVU.

Premature as it is, I would like to see the Guild Wars Apocolypse.
Where Glint, Abbadon, Shiro, Kanaxai, Urgoz, Mallyx, Frostmaw, Duncan the Black, the Undead Lich, and The Great Destroyer are released, and reign terror over all towns and explorable areas. No where is safe, and it's every player for himself when the whole zone becomes PvP, and all creatures are at war with each other, leaving their homes and terrorize the entire map.
And finally, a gate lies open to Pre Searing, a Time portal, where the final battle will be held, all the creatures of the world against all the players of Guild Wars in the last bloody battle of Ascalon, and all shall fall when the Ruins of Orr sink down into the depths of the sea, and the gods unleash the end of the world, and all is turned black and lightless.... Muahahahahaha!
Sorry, ehem, got carried away. That would be cool.

THE SERVERS WILL NOT SHUT DOWN

And in the next two years, we won't have any new content, even so much as a festival. The only thing to do for TWO YEARS is to repeat what we've already done.
Boring.

Actually, I've been arguing that Anet should already start being bold and experimental with GW1, now that GW2 is announced.
Have some fun, try stuff, make bold changes/fixes/nerfs/buffs. Do it while they still have a population to test the results of their changes.
OK, they could do it horribly wrong, but also, its their chance to make huge changes they always wish they did. (if they did)

ANet already said that Guild Wars will stay. Guild Wars 2 will not change this.

Simple fact of the matter is that ANet would rather have two GW games on the shelves than just one. More money. Har! Final Hours indeed.

Be happy with the time you could spent here. Everything ultimately ends and depending on how good the HoM rewards turn out you'll still see plenty of people in GW1 maxing their titles, armours etc.

They stated that GW will not be abandoned, at all. The entire player base isnt going to Guild Wars 2. You dont know that we will have no festival events, do you?
Chances are more updates and features will be implemented, with the HoM being affected by updates in GW1, i can almost garentee that updates will continue after the release of GW2. I dare say that that the Hall of Monuments of proof of that.

Well you either do something to get what you want or you stop caring =). It's easiest in a game.

GW2 is going to bomb.
I am 80% sure of that.
Guild Wars 2 is going to be a monumental failure... as everyone is going to have hyped up ideas of what it should be and how everything can be improved..... and yet it is going to live up to nobody's expectations, and everyone is going to see aspects of it that are worse than the original..... and it will all be downhill from there.
A lot of player-base WILL be lost.... and A-Net will either have to keep the original alive in order to keep their feet on the ground..... or everything will collapse.
